Zena Warrior Princess

Hi

So, our studio cat Zena...fought a good fight this morning. We think she may have won! South Slope came out to fix our phone line today, they had to open the cellar door. Unbeknownst to Jaimy, Zena got down there and this is what happened. This is sooooo funny. She walked all the way up the stairs like this. We have no idea how she could even see. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Jack Oliver Lampe!!

Welcome to the newest member of the Ovation family! Jaimy first met Jack on February 20th at the UIHC hospital. Isn't he adorable? Although, not to be out done by big brother Evan...they are quite a pair and they keep Alexia and Jeremy really busy! Alexia - thank you so much for letting us be there for such a special moment in your lives. Jack is just getting cuter and cuter each time we see him. You guys are so lucky to have two really good lookin' boys.

Collin Andrew

Isn't he one of the cutest babies you have ever laid eyes on????? Of course we all know that our own babies are the most beautiful...but this little guy sure tugs at my heart strings. This is baby Collin and he was born this last January 20th. I am so thankful that his mother allowed me to be there for his birth. Thanks to Andy also...the dad does have something to do with it, right? I just want to share this cutie with everyone!

Helpers are great!

Aren't they soooo cute! These young helpers were so important this last weekend. They came to the Cedar Rapids Aspire dance competition and we couldn't have done it without them.

We saw some really nice dancing and took 1000's of amazing photos. Thanks sooo much to David, Brent and Miranda.

Dinner and good fun!

Hola Chicas!

We had so much fun at dinner the other night. We got the chance to have dinner with Jodi Gehman and Samantha Bender and of course (as you can see) their handsome husbands. We talked about everything from photos to bed-wetting. We will let you decide who that pertained to.....
Anywho, thanks to our friends Sam and Jodi for inviting us and we want to send out a big 'hello' to Hannah as well.

Nolte Awards

Hi Nolte Dancers!!!!

Congratulations on a great weekend and thanks for having us along! There were so many happy moments and beautiful moments. We want to give a big 'YEAH' to the choreographers and their choreographer awards.

Leslie took the choreographer awards on day one for 'I'm Yours' danced by Miranda Decker and 'First Day of My Life' danced by Kathryn Smith. There were too many great things happening to list them all. We'll be seeing all the Nolte dancers in Davenport next weekend!

Babies and Bunnies

We are sooooo excited to bring live bunnies to Ovation! Thank you to Jenny and Kate Gillam for coming to the studio to model our new session. Kate did a fantastic job and showed us all her sweetheart expressions. Thanks for taking the time to bring her to the studio Jenny. We are limiting this session to three days, so call asap and book your time. This is so reasonable you can't afford to not do it.

The bunnies are donated from Pet Central Station in Iowa City. The owner is amazing and actually potty trains all her bunnies to a litter box. If you are interested in getting a rabbit, this lady is the one to go to. This particular grey rabbit was so well behaved and very kind to Kate.

We will see you all in March!

We're Baaaack!

We just got back from the Prof. Photographers of Iowa winter Convention in Des Moines. What a blast. Mindy and I both participated in a state wide print competition, helping behind the scenes and also having our prints judged. How did we do? Awesome....... Mindy won first place in the Outdoor Groups Catagory with "A Private Affair" and first place in the Indoor Woman category for "Graceful Lines". She was also recognized as one of the Top Ten Photographers in Iowa. As for me, I won first place in the Outdoor Child category with "Bashful Beauty" and first place in the Outdoor Woman category with "Covergirl". I also won first place in the Digital Competition and received a Kodak Gallery Award for that same print. We also won third place for a multi-maker album. We were on fire! As for some other highlights from our trip, We participated in a lip-sync contest where Mindy and I dressed as male rappers. Mindy was really convincing. All-in-all the weekend was so much fun and we can't wait for our regioanl competition called Heart of America in Council Bluffs, IA.

This weekend we will be attending Bravo! dance competition in Ames. Good luck to all of the Nolte Dancers, we will be rooting for you. See you there!

Jamie and David

Hi Bagan crew! So, guess what? Your photos are coming up pretty soon! This couple braved a wintery day and a heck of a snow storm. We will never look at 'Old Capital' the same. Thanks so much for dragging everyone outside in the briskness! We wanted to give you a sneak at your pictures since we know you are so excited. You guys are all so great!

Katie and Jeff

Katie and Jeff were an absolute blast! They are a perfect match. Fun, layed back, and so incredibly cute. We are so grateful that we got to spend a day with them and their loved ones. They got married in Sharon Center, a little tiny town in the middle of a landscape of farms and fields. The perfect background for the perfect couple.

Katie and Michael

Katie and Michael really warmed up a cold day! We had a great time with them and their bridal party. Their pictures were so fun and it just got better as the day went on. Katie...your photos will be done soon and you will be absolutely thrilled. Thanks for letting us spend the day with you and Michael.

Jenny and Josh

We had a blast with Jenny and Josh. Do you all remember the ice storm on December 1st and 2nd....we do. This was the special day Jenny chose for her wedding day! The ice was perfect for the photography. We had a wonderful time at her parents home with the horses also. Thanks to Jenny and Josh's great friends, the horses behaved and everything went just wonderful. We are looking forward to you seeing all of your photos, but we wanted to give you a sneak peak. Thank you so much for choosing Ovation and we hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Heather and Jake

Heather and Jake had an amazing, beautiful wedding...despite the soaring temps. Who would think it would reach the 90's in October? We had so much fun with this couple and they broke a record for Ovation....the biggest wedding party! They had a total of 24 for bridesmaids, groomsmen and ushers! Everything was beautiful and their photos clearly will reflect the fun they had that day. The photo we have posted was taken in City Park while all of their friends cheered them on from the party bus. We couldn't have asked for better company!

Rogan in Oxford

We had sooo much fun with Rogan! Look at what we did with a semi flat bed. She looks amazing! Thanks for coming to Ovation. We ran around town with Rogan looking for the greatest locations and then, the next thing we knew, we put her up on this flat bed. Thanks to Oxford for giving us such great backdrops! We love this town!

Kelby and Tony

Congratulations on your new life together Kelby and Tony. We are busy working on your images and we just want you to know how beautiful your photos will be. Here is a sneak preview! If anyone has had the chance to meet Tony and Kelby, you know how great they are together. What a beautiful bride Kelby was and how nice of her to let Tony go hunting the morning of their wedding! We will keep you two posted.

Kyle and Jessica

Kyle and Jessica came at just the right time for thier engagement photos! The leaves are turning, and the sun is about to set. What a romantic backround. They will be getting married exactly 1 year from when the photos were taken. Oct. 25, 2008. We are so excited for their wedding.
